Not what we expected

What with all the advance planning we were not surprised at the 10-15 knot winds from the west. What we didn't expect was the huge squalls during the first night and bumpy confused seas. We are pushing our way north through 10-14 ft. waves, mostly from ahead, but from all directions. A wave goes over the boat every 5 minutes.

We started out just motoring when the wind was lighter, then motor sailing to get through the bumps, now on reefed main and partly furled jib. Our heading isn't as good, but it sure is nice to have some quiet.

When I think I could be home with a cold beer, a good book and the cat snuggled up beside me!!!!!!!!
